Steve Day!

Saturday we had a Steve Day Spectacular!

Lowe's holds a kid's workshop, where you go in and they build something simple and you get a little apron like the workers there and a patch saying that you did this specific workshop.
We got there a little late and there were a thousand kids with hammers and safety glasses, banging their hammers like it depended on their lives.
They give you a little packet with directions, screws and wood and you basically just go to town. We built a flying flag, that was pretty cool. We stole the safety goggles and got a patch. Its free too, so that's also a bonus.

After building we went to go see the movie Cars 2.

I really wasn't expecting anything great out of Cars 2. Most of the reviews I had read said that it was the worst Pixar movie, ever. Pixar in my opinion doesn't make bad movies, look at their track record. Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Wall-E; all amazing.
Cars 2, not so much.
It held Steve's interest though, so that's all I really cared about.
I ate a whole thing of sour patch kids and Steve ate a box of cookie dough bites, after the movie I think we both felt sick.

After a nap, we met up with Steve's favorite Louisiana peeps.
Kristen and Phil.
We went Putt-Putt golfing at the Kart Ranch which was super fun, especially because Kristen picked me up a pina colada and that always makes things especially awesome.
Phil and Steve love each other, so while they did dude stuff together, like high fiveing and fishing golf balls out of the river, Kristen and I chatted and drank our drinks.

We all tons of fun and it was really nice to be able to hold an adult conversation while Phil and Steve entertained each other.
After Putt-Putt,
Steve wanted to do "the big balls"
The big balls are these giant exercise balls of all sizes with a rope ladder over them.
Uggh.
Its also connected to those giant hamster cage things for kids, you know like they have at Chuck E Cheese and McDonald's with a ball pit that kids undoubtedly throw up in a pee in.
Yeah, we were in there.
Anyways, I crawl in to the big balls after Steve who gets his feet stuck every three seconds, so I have to pick him up and bounce him onto the next big ball.
By the way, this is netting is incredibly painful.
My toes and knees are not made for nets.
We finally make it over to the next little hamster cage stop when this little girl, no more than 2 years old, with a binkie still in her mouth comes crawling out and looks at me and says, "Help, help!"
What? I look around, you want me to bring you all the way back over there after I almost broke all my toes on this netting?
Of course, I didn't say that.
I picked her up and made sure she got back over safely, wondering where in the hell her parents were.
So, I cross back over this horrible big ball thing and then into the little hamster hole where Steve is sitting, waiting patiently for me.
The next part is more freaking netting.
Seriously, this is getting old.
So, I cross over it, army style because I feel like dispersing my weight will help take the pressure off my knees and toes, wrong.
It just made my whole body hurt.
Thinking Steve is behind me, crawling as well, I continue across to the next hamster hole.
Victorious, I turn around to high five Steve.
Who is still on the other side.
After much pleading to just try and come across with him, I go back over to him expecting him to crawl back after me this time.
No, he asks me to carry him on my back.
I tell him absolutely not, that would kill me, literally.
So, back and down the big balls and netting of terror.

I make my way out and let Steve play in the gross ball pit for a little while, eventually we bid adieu to Kristen and Phil.
It was a lovely day filled with tons of Steve fun and a pina colada.
Perfect.

Cheers.
